The 'Bituin' Malong is a one-of-a-kind piece handcrafted by artisans in Mindanao. Only one was ever made, making it a rare collectible that will never be restocked once sold.

"The malong is special to me. I grew up performing traditional dances with it and using it in everyday life. It’s basically a long tube garment and traditionally worn by the Maranao peoples of Mindanao, Philippines, where my family are from and where I grew up.Â
The malong's shape makes it super versatile: as a wrap-around skirt, dress, head turban, baby sling, or even a sleeping bag!
As a cultural dance performer and content creator, I’ve also used mine as a portable change room (if you’ve seen me getting changed outdoors in Brisbane… yep, it’s probably inside my vintage malong I’ve had since I was 5).
My fondest memory? Sleeping inside my malong on an overnight ferry from Surigao to Leyte, where some of my extended family live.
The malongs in our collection are opulent and detailed, some with shimmering accents, others with beautiful geometric prints, inspired by the elegance of the Maranao people’s iconic dance, Singkil.
